AeroWound BPC Wound Dressing No 15 Large 18 x 18cm
The BPC wound dressing No 15 is the large size of the classic first aid combination dressing: a thick absorbent pad with a gauze bandage already attached, so a first aider can cover a heavily bleeding wound and wrap it firmly in one movement without looking for a separate bandage. The 18cm x 18cm pad covers a forearm, a calf or the palm and back of a hand, and the low-adherent contact face makes the dressing gentler to lift when a doctor takes over.
Each dressing is sterile and sealed in a peel-open pouch. The No 15 is the large wound dressing listed in workplace first aid kits, so it is the direct refill after a kit has been used.
Sold singly to restock kits one dressing at a time, with quantity pricing for workplaces and kit assemblers. For smaller cuts choose the No 14 (12 x 12cm) or No 13.
Features
- Large 18 x 18cm pad: thick, highly absorbent compress for heavy bleeding and larger wounds.
- Attached gauze bandage: apply the pad and hold firm pressure with one bandage, no second roll needed.
- Low-adherent contact layer: reduces sticking to the wound so removal is gentler.
- Sterile, peel-open pouch: ethylene oxide sterilised and individually sealed; open it without touching the pad.
- Latex-free and hypoallergenic: suitable for most casualties and first aiders.
- Kit standard: the large (No 15) wound dressing found in workplace, vehicle and remote kits.
How to use
- Put on gloves. Open the pouch and take out the dressing without touching the face of the sterile pad.
- Place the pad over the wound while holding the short end of the bandage.
- Wind the long end of the bandage firmly over the pad and around the limb, then tie off in a knot over the pad.
- If blood soaks through, add another dressing on top rather than removing the first. Call 000 for severe bleeding.
Check that fingers or toes beyond the bandage stay warm and pink, and loosen it if they turn cold, numb or blue. Do not remove a dressing that is controlling bleeding. Do not use if the pouch is opened or damaged. Seek medical advice for serious wounds. Always follow the directions for use.

FAQs
What is a BPC wound dressing used for? Covering a wound and applying firm pressure to control bleeding. The pad and bandage come together, so it can be put on quickly by one person.
What does BPC stand for? British Pharmaceutical Codex, the old pharmacy reference that set the standard pattern for these combination dressings.
What is the difference between No 13, 14 and 15? The pad size. No 15 is the large 18 x 18cm dressing, No 14 is the medium 12 x 12cm and No 13 is the small size for fingers and hands.
How often should a wound dressing be changed? A first aid dressing is a temporary cover until medical care. Leave a dressing that is controlling bleeding in place and let the doctor or nurse change it.
Can I use an out-of-date or opened dressing? Do not use a dressing if the pouch is opened or damaged, because the pad may no longer be sterile. Replace any damaged stock at kit checks.
