AeroPad Sterile Eye Pad 5.5cm x 7.7cm

A sterile eye pad is the dressing that goes over a closed eye after a knock, a scratch or grit that has been flushed out, to cushion it and keep light and dirt away while the casualty gets to a doctor. The AeroPad eye pad is an oval pad with a soft absorbent core and a smooth non-adherent layer on both faces, so it sits over the lid without sticking to lashes or a weeping eye and lifts off cleanly when it is changed.

Every pad is sealed in its own wrapper and sterilised, so one can be taken from a kit without exposing the rest. It is the eye pad supplied in Aero workplace, school and vehicle first aid kits.

Buy single pads to restock a kit after use, or the box of 50 for first aid rooms, schools, sports clubs and kit assemblers who refill kits regularly.

How to use

1. Wash your hands and put on gloves. Ask the casualty to close the eye.
2. Peel open the wrapper without touching the pad surface.
3. Place the pad over the closed eye and hold it in place with microporous tape or a light conforming bandage. Do not press on the eye.
4. Keep the casualty still and get medical help for any eye injury.

Do not place a pad over an eye with an embedded object, and never apply pressure to the eye. For chemical splashes, flush the eye with eyewash or clean water for at least 20 minutes before covering it, and seek medical attention. Do not use if the wrapper is opened or damaged. This product is not a substitute for medical attention. Always follow the directions for use.

Are these eye pads sterile? Yes. Each pad is sterilised with ethylene oxide and sealed in its own wrapper. Do not use one if the wrapper is torn or opened.
