AeroForm Lightweight Conforming Gauze Bandage 4m

A conforming bandage is the light, stretchy gauze roll used to hold a dressing in place. Its job is to wrap smoothly around awkward shapes such as a wrist, ankle, elbow or heel and keep a pad exactly where it was put, with gentle, even compression and no constriction. The AeroForm bandage is soft and breathable, follows the contour of the limb and copes with a little swelling or movement without loosening.

Unlike a crepe bandage it is not designed to support a sprain, and it is not the heavy bandage used for snake bite pressure immobilisation. It is the everyday retention bandage in workplace, school, vehicle and sports first aid kits.

Five widths cover everything from a finger to a thigh: 2.5cm and 5cm for fingers, hands and children, 7.5cm for wrists, forearms and ankles, 10cm for elbows, knees and calves, and 15cm for thighs, shoulders and large dressings. All rolls are 4m long when stretched and sold singly with quantity pricing.

How to use

1. Place the dressing or pad over the wound.
2. Start below the dressing with two turns to anchor the bandage, then wrap upwards, overlapping each turn by about half the width.
3. Keep the tension light and even: the bandage should hold the dressing without leaving marks.
4. Finish above the dressing and secure the end with tape or a bandage clip.
5. Check fingers or toes stay warm and pink; loosen the bandage if they become numb, cold or swollen.

Single use and non-sterile: always place a sterile dressing on an open wound first. Do not use a conforming bandage for snake bite pressure immobilisation; use a heavy elastic bandage. Always follow the directions for use.
