TraumaSim’s Trainer’s Pack for Bleeding Control 2 has been created to assist trainers in delivering the lifesaving skills of tourniquet application and wound packing. This convenient kit contains, TraumaSim’s Haemorrhage Control Simulator – Lifecast Arm and our Haemostatic Clotting Trainer (HCT). Combining these training aids with the accessories included in the kit ensures the trainer has everything they require to deliver haemorrhage control training to the highest level.
Arterial bleeding can cause death in as little as 3 minutes, without immediate intervention, a life can be lost. Applying a tourniquet and wound packing correctly can be a lifesaving measure, however, these are skills that need to be correctly taught, accurate technique experienced and then repeated to lock in the muscle memory.
The Haemorrhage Control Simulator – Lifecast Arm has the added bonus of being 2 training aids in one unit, it simulates a full arm with a junctional wound near the armpit and a laceration across the radial artery – suitable for wound packing and tourniquet application, pairing this training aid with the HCT laceration wound, gives the trainees multiple exposure to potential haemorrhage locations requiring different ‘stop the bleed’ techniques and when the correct tourniquet technique and wound packing is used the bleeding will occlude. These units can be used as wet or dry training aids, however TraumaSim rates realism as one of the most important training tools, so outside with the bleeding function operating will give you the best simulation result. By spiking your trainee’s heart rate and testing their fine motor skill under pressure, will truly test their confidence and competence leading to better outcomes.
