G’day everyone and welcome to the first of a series of product reviews for The First Aid Shop. This review will take a look at a new product that has hit our shelves – Sqwincher. Sqwincher is an electrolyte replacement beverage which tastes great and is loaded full of the essentials to keep you from heat stroke, cramps and dehydration. Although we’re getting towards the end of summer, we’ve still got a number of weeks of high-temperature weather ahead of us. Also, there are plenty of folk who work outside who would benefit from Sqwincher, as too would any and all who participate in individual or team sport.
If we work in hot environments or exercise a lot, we tend to be rewarded with a good sweat. This is essentially water and essential minerals leaving our body to help cool us down. Now, most people are of the correct belief that when this happens, we need to drink water. However, what too many people don’t realise is that you need to replace those essential minerals of sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium. At a cellular level, these minerals help our muscles and organs work. Without them, or if there is an imbalance, the body tends to let us know in rather uncomfortable ways. This can take on the form of dehydration, cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. So, it is essential that not only do we take on water, but electrolytes as well. This is where Sqwincher is able to help out.
Why Sqwincher? Well, having personally consumed a number of litres of Sqwincher as a firefighter, I know for certain that it tastes good. This is backed up by a blind study that compared a number of electrolyte replacement drinks, with Sqwincher rating highest. It is also amongst the lowest in sodium content. But hang on, didn’t you just say we need sodium I hear you ask? Yes, we do. But not in excess amounts. If you have too much sodium in your body, it can increase your blood pressure and make your heart pump harder, as well as headaches, confusion and possible seizures in the short term. There are also sugar and sugar-free options of Sqwincher available.
Sqwincher is really versatile in that it comes in a variety of delivery formats. By this, I mean you can get 2L concentrate bottles (which makes 20L of drink, great to mix up in one batch in a water cooler for sports teams), 500ml concentrate bottles (these ones make up a 5L solution, ideal for keeping individuals hydrated throughout the day), frozen individual ice blocks, and individual sachets, perfect for mixing into a 600ml drink bottle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
